Bringing Equal Opportunities To All
The EqualBreak Project is a modest attempt at a massive undertaking - to try to help empower people Globally, regardless of their wealth, age, disability, gender, race, sexuality or any other label.
In the summary above, you will probably have noticed "Wealth" was the first on the list, the rest (you might not have noticed) was simply listed alphabetically.
So why Wealth?
Well, as a general rule, all other things being equal, Wealth tends to be the biggest influence in deciding what opportunities are available to people. That includes where they live, how they live, their education level, transport options, job availability and training options.
Until now.
The EqualBreak project concentrates on finding free training opportunities which anyone can benefit from. Yes, you DO need an internet connection but it can be on a phone, a community based computer, or one in a public library. Providing you have access to the internet, your limits are no longer linked to wealth - just a willingness to learn, to develop and to acquire skills that others will pay you for.
Like What?
The initial training opportunities are going to be surrounding Information Technology - from the ability to diagnose problems remotely, website design, software creation, software testing and so on. ALL of our courses are completely free and most of them are either suitable for a complete beginner OR link to a foundation course (also free) to prepare you. Initially, you will need to be able to speak English - this is simply because the people behind "making this happen" speak English and we do not yet have the resources to translate all training materials into all languages. Bear with us.
Then What?
Once you have reached a certain level of training, you can ask to be assessed. This is also free and will usually be little more than a check to make sure you are ready to advertise for work. Once we have signed you off, you can then post for "work wanted" in the basic forums. As your reputation grows for small, simple work, you are then able to apply for work on other, higher forums (still free for you). As your reputation and quality grows, so too, does you ability to bid for more lucrative work.
What if I am not interested in programming?
That's reasonable. Programming, app design and even technical support are not for everyone. As we try to attract more benefactors, we hope to increasingly offer training materials for other skills in life, both ones which can result in people being able to earn money - and also to simply make life a little easier. The reason we are focusing on technology to begin with, is that a programmer in a luxury penthouse in America has the same earning potential as someone with similar skills working from a communal hut in a poverty struck remote village. ALL that should matter is the SKILLS people have - and we want to give those to people for free. Learning takes effort - but should not take money.
Hence the idea of EqualBreak - making sure people have equal skills - or have access to the training which will give them those skills - for nothing other than their effort to learn.
This is very much a work in progress and is NOT even supposed to be seen by anyone other than the other people involved in the project. As and when things develop however, we will add links so you can contact us - either to begin training OR to offer us training materials that we can offer to others for free.
Please support us if you can - and take full advantage of us if you cannot.
